These days Pat divides her time between the vibrant river city of Brisbane and a secluded corner of the idyllic Sunshine Coast 130km to the north, where most of her creative work happens. Born and bred in Brisbane, after graduating she spent a decade overseas and interstate before putting her roots firmly back in home soil. After years of working in management in large organisations she set up her own small consultancy business, which swept her into an entertaining maelstrom of politics, community outrage and action. Travel has been a lifelong constant on her agenda.
While most of her professional work has involved working with seriously factual words, fiction writing has morphed into her fifth career… maybe not the most lucrative, but certainly the most fun. She believes that writing and photography have together sharpened her perceptions of whatever part of the world she’s inhabiting. She’s recently completed her sixth novel, On the Edge – while this is a spin-off from the Annie Bryce series, it’s Pat’s first departure from the crime fiction genre in novel form. What now? Who knows? Watch this space!.
Pat also participates in the local literary scene by giving author talks, writing reviews, presenting workshops and judging competitions. She always enjoys meeting readers. Where would writers be without them?
