Pat NoadPat has had a long and varied career, from casual anything and everything to careers counselling and educational management, before working for fifteen years as an independent consultant. That’s when she found herself swept along by the energy and passions of the fabulous community sector – where so many people work so hard, often for nothing, to achieve a better life for others. What a wild ride that turned out to be!

Like many authors before her Pat cut her writing teeth on short stories, and their success encouraged her to embark on a novel. Little did she know that Loose Ends would be the first of six (well, so far). She’s always enjoyed dabbling with photography and local history too, as well as travel. That’s probably why researching her stories around her magnificent home state of Queensland has been so much fun, where there’s a story lurking in every shadow.

You’ll find more of Pat’s photos in the Photo Gallery. Because her settings are central to her stories, the gallery takes readers to a key location for each book with a thumbnail comment about what the characters were doing there.

Pat also participates in the local literary scene by giving author talks, writing reviews, presenting workshops and judging competitions. She always enjoys meeting readers. Where would writers be without them?
